Moving with Ease: An Introduction to Gentle Yoga

A supportive practice for stretching, mobility, and slowing down.

What is Gentle Yoga?

When people think of yoga, they sometimes picture fast-moving classes or advanced postures. But yoga doesn’t have to be that way. Gentle yoga is about slowing down and moving with ease.

This class emphasizes low-impact postures at a comfortable pace. We’ll focus on stretching, mobility, and simple movements that feel good in your body. There’s no pressure to “do it right” or keep up with anyone else — instead, it’s about exploring how your body moves and giving yourself time to notice what feels best.

A chance to move with ease each week.

Gentle yoga is all about stretching, mobility, and finding comfort in movement. I teach a weekly Power Yoga class at Elevate Yoga in Sheboygan, giving you a supportive space to slow down and connect with your body.

To see the upcoming schedule, check the Elevate Yoga Momence app. From the teachers dropdown, choose Mark Meise, and you’ll find my classes there.

Why try Gentle Yoga?

Gentle yoga is a great fit if you’re:

  • Looking for a practice that’s accessible at any age or ability level.

  • Wanting to improve flexibility and mobility without strain.

  • New to yoga and searching for a safe, welcoming place to start.

  • Coming back to yoga after a break or recovering from an injury.

  • Simply craving a class that’s about feeling good in your body.

What to expect in a Gentle Yoga class

In a gentle yoga class, we’ll take our time with each posture. Movements are easy to follow, with modifications available to make things more comfortable. Expect stretches that release tension, postures that support mobility, and simple flows that keep you connected to your breath.

The pace is slower, but that doesn’t mean it’s less valuable — gentle yoga helps build awareness, improve circulation, and create space in the body. Many students leave class saying they feel refreshed, open, and more at ease than when they arrived.

Try a class or book a private session in Sheboygan

One of my favorite things about gentle yoga is how truly welcoming it is. Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning after some time away, or simply looking for a lighter approach, this class meets you where you are. Props and modifications are always available so you can move in a way that feels supportive.

If you’re drawn to slower, deeply restful practices, you may want to explore Restorative Yoga, which I teach once a month in Sheboygan. On the other hand, if you’re looking for something more fast-paced and strength-focused, Power Yoga offers that extra challenge.

Move with ease, at your own pace.

Sign up for a gentle yoga class in Sheboygan or request a private session in Kohler — both are welcoming spaces to stretch, breathe, and feel good in your body.
